Failure
So I heard someone say, "I don't think we should strive for perfection....that only sets us up for failure." This was in reference to living a Godly life.
May I say, "Hogwash!"
The way I see it...failure is one way in which we realize our need for our merciful, omnipotent God. We MUST strive for perfection....that is what God wants out of us. When we unfortunately fail, that is when God displays his mercy by covering our shortcomings. God atones for our failures when we realize our mistakes and grasp for His help.
Summary: Perfection is something that we should always strive for. Because of any failure that is inevitable, God is able to display his mercy and power and therefore we have that much more reason to love and worship Him.
